This notice explains what happens to data when you use gamesducky.com. It covers two quite different things: reading the news side of the site, and playing games in the browser library. The second one involves other companies’ technology, so it gets its own section rather than being buried in a general paragraph.

Games Ducky is operated as an independent editorial and games project. Questions about anything below go to [email protected].

The Short Version

You don’t need an account to read articles or play games here. We don’t ask for your name, and we don’t build profiles of individual readers.

We do collect ordinary technical information that any website receives, we use analytics to understand which pages and games get used, and the games themselves are supplied by outside studios and platforms whose own technology runs inside your browser when you play. That last part is the one worth reading carefully.

Information That Reaches Us

Automatically, when you visit. Your browser sends technical details to our hosting infrastructure as a normal part of loading a page: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device category, screen size, referring page, and the time of the request. Server logs of this kind are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then discarded.

Through analytics. We use analytics tools to see which articles get read, which games get played, how people move between the news and the library, and where things break. This works on aggregated and pseudonymised data — page views, sessions, approximate location at country or region level, device type. It is not used to identify you personally, and we do not attempt to link it to a name.

When you email us. If you write to [email protected], we receive whatever you put in the message: your email address, your name if you include it, and any attachments. We keep correspondence in the inbox for as long as it’s editorially useful and delete it when it isn’t. Story tips can be sent anonymously — we don’t need to know who you are to check a claim, and we don’t publish a sender’s identity unless they explicitly ask us to.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not trade reader data with other publishers.

Playing Games: What You Should Know

The titles in our library are made and hosted by third-party studios and game distribution platforms. When you open one, that provider’s code runs in your browser and loads directly from their servers. This is how browser game libraries work everywhere, and it has a real privacy consequence: those providers can set their own cookies, receive your IP address and device details, and apply their own privacy terms, which are not ours.

We select the titles we host, but we don’t control what happens inside a third-party game frame, and we can’t inspect their data practices on your behalf. If a specific game matters to you, the provider’s own privacy terms are the document that governs it.

The same applies to any embedded video, trailer or social media post that appears in our articles. Content loaded from an outside platform is subject to that platform’s rules once it loads.

Younger Visitors

A meaningful share of our games library is played by children and teenagers, and we don’t pretend otherwise. That shapes several decisions.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. There are no accounts, no profiles, no sign-up forms, and nothing on the site asks a visitor for their name, age, address, phone number or photograph.

We do not accept real-money gambling advertising, casino affiliate placements, or promotions for applications distributed outside official app stores. Where advertising appears on the site, we instruct our advertising partners not to serve behaviourally targeted ads to visitors identified as children, and to use contextual placement instead.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal information — through an email, a message, or a submitted tip — write to [email protected] and we will delete it. You don’t need to explain yourself or provide documentation; asking is enough.

Cookies and Similar Technology

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. On gamesducky.com they fall into three groups:

TypeWhat it doesSet by
EssentialKeeps the site working — page delivery, security, load balancing, remembering your cookie choicesUs and our hosting provider
AnalyticsMeasures traffic and how pages and games are usedAnalytics tools we operate
AdvertisingSupports ad delivery and frequency capping where ads are shownAdvertising partners
Game providerSet inside embedded games by the studio or platform hosting themThird-party game providers

Non-essential cookies are set only where you have consented, in regions where consent is required. You can change or withdraw that choice at any time through the cookie settings on the site, and you can clear or block cookies entirely in your browser. Blocking essential cookies will break parts of the site; blocking others mostly won’t affect reading or playing.

Why We Process Anything at All

Reduced to plain purposes, the data described above is used to deliver the site to your browser, keep it secure and stable, understand which content is worth producing more of, respond to messages people send us, and support advertising where it appears.

For visitors in the EU and UK, the legal grounds are: legitimate interests for security, basic analytics and responding to correspondence; and consent for non-essential cookies and advertising technology. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object — see the section below.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold, to receive a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent you previously gave. Residents of California and several other US states have comparable rights, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Since we sell nothing and share no reader data for cross-context behavioural advertising sales, there is no opt-out of sale to operate.

Requests go to [email protected]. Tell us what you want done and give us enough detail to find the relevant records — usually the email address you contacted us from. We handle requests within the timeframes required by the law that applies to you. Because we hold very little identifiable information about ordinary visitors, the honest answer to many requests is that there’s nothing on file to retrieve.

If you are unhappy with how we’ve handled a request, you can complain to your national data protection authority.

How Long Things Are Kept

Server logs: a short retention window for security and diagnostics. Analytics data: aggregated, held for trend analysis over multiple years, with individual-level records expiring far sooner. Email correspondence: kept while relevant, then deleted. We don’t maintain long-term archives of reader data for their own sake.

Security, Honestly Described

We use standard protections — encrypted connections, restricted access to the inbox, hosting infrastructure with its own security controls. No website can promise that data transmitted over the internet is completely safe, and we won’t claim otherwise. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting personal data, we’ll notify affected people and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.

Links Away From the Site

Articles link to publisher newswires, regulatory filings, store pages and other outlets so you can check what we report. Once you leave gamesducky.com, this notice stops applying and the destination’s own terms take over. We’re not responsible for how other sites treat your data, and a link is not an endorsement of their privacy practices.

Changes to This Notice

We update this page when our practices change, when we add or remove a category of third-party technology, or when the law requires it. The revision date at the top always reflects the current version. Material changes will be flagged on the site rather than made silently.
